Pier Capital, LLC has been managing Small Cap Growth equity portfolios in the same style since its inception in 1987. Originally part of a large multinational company, the Firm is now owned by the strategy team and the original founder.
Firm History
The Firm was founded as a division of ABB Asea Brown Boveri, a large global engineering firm. In 1998 ABB sold the business unit to SEB, one of the largest financial institutions in Scandinavia. The business was subsequently renamed SEB Asset Management America, Inc. and continued to operate on a standalone basis.
In September of 2004, management acquired 100% of the equity advisory business from SEB to form Pier Capital, LLC.
